SENIOR TREASURY ANALYST
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 (dependant on experience) + bonus potential
Location: Toronto
Reports to: Manager, Treasury
The Opportunity
Our client, a publicly traded company, is seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst to join their team of accounting and finance professionals and will report directly to the Manager of Treasury at their Toronto location. The Senior Treasury Analyst will be responsible for daily cash monitoring, cash forecasts, foreign exchange spot purchases, swaps and hedges. This role will oversee the management of bank account documentation and preparing leasing/debt amortization schedules.
Responsibilities
- Daily reporting on bank activity
- Initiation of wire transfers and intercompany settlements as required
- Daily cash monitoring of bank accounts
- Preparation of 5 week cash forecast
- Make recommendations re: borrowing requirements and/or short term investing of excess cash
- Execute foreign exchange spot purchases, swaps and hedges
- Co-ordinate mark-to-market month-end reporting for foreign exchange hedges with divisions
- Approval of Revenue Canada on-line payments and administrator for online tax payment access
- Administrator for online bank account access
- Management of bank account documentation including updating of signatories and addition/closure of bank accounts as required
- Co-ordinate bank reference letter requirements with banks
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting
- Assist in the development and tracking/ reporting of key performance metrics on a monthly basis
- Preparation of documentation required to facilitate drawdown/repayment under Credit Facility
- Preparation of leasing/debt amortization schedules
- Backup for Treasury Analyst
- Backup for Manager, Treasury for letters of credit, Capital Transactions Requests (CTR’s) and operating lease reporting
- Review and recommend improvements to treasury processes and procedures including opportunities to automate cash processes, streamline reporting and enhance banking processes
- Primary contact for yearend banking and debt audit requirements, co-ordination of bank confirmations for both restricted and non-restricted accounts and debt audit confirmations
- Additional participation in internal/external audits as needed
- Responsible for debt reporting and maintenance of total company debt sub-ledger and Corporate debt monthly journal entries
- Responsible for debenture accounting and reporting
- Responsible for monthly capital charges recording, reporting and balance confirmations with divisions
- Ad-hoc and special projects
Qualifications
- Must be a seasoned treasury professional with a minimum of 5 years experience with daily cash monitoring, cash reporting, cash forecasts and foreign exchange spot purchases
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is preferred
- CGA, CMA or CA designation is preferred
- Exposure to treasury workstations and ERP systems a plus
- Excellent analytical and financial skills
- Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability for accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with various levels of management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Strong Excel and Word skills
