Manager, Financial Planning (CONTRACT - 15mths)

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (dependant on experience)
Location: GTA
Reports to: Director, Financial Planning
Responsibilities
- Manages staff in the preparation of all budgets and forecasts submissions
- Manages 5 year Strategic Plan submission
- Co-ordinates all financial analysis, by-title financial reporting in Essbase
- Modelling and special projects prepared for Canadian senior management and U.S. head office
- Manages staff in the preparation of all financial analysis required for Budget submissions including: overseeing completion of by-title revenues for major new releases, promotional campaigns, sell thru catalogue, reserve assumptions, PAP expenses, product cost assumptions and supplemental analysis
- Manages all operating statements in Essbase (Actuals, Budgets and rolling forecasts
- Reviews commentaries prepared by financial analysts for management
- Reviews month end actual performance compared to forecast
- Co-ordinates and/or makes recommendations re: presentation schedules for annual Budget and Reforecast/Year-end Forecast e.g. market share, price point analysis, hardware growth, revenue analysis
- Manages and reviews preparation of forecasts by analysing historical performance of products, hardware growth, digital client growth (subscriptions and downloads), seasonality trends etc.
- Reviews weekly revenue report prepared for Canadian senior management
- Manages annual 5 year strategic plan and liaises with senior management regarding critical business assumptions
- Liaises with Sales & Marketing Group to ensure POS and volume rebates are accounted for in monthly accruals and prepares journal entries
- Quarter-end reporting and variance analysis e.g. Eroom schedules, COCs
- Reviews ad-hoc reports prepared by analysts for Sr. Management ie. Business Plans, Breakeven analysis, Returns by Customers etc.
- 60% planning, 30% reporting, 10% ad hoc assignments
Qualifications
- Accounting designation (CGA, CMA)
- 5 years or more experience in a high paced accounting environment
- 4 years of supervisory experience
- Team oriented, great communication and relationship building skills
- Results focused with attention to detail
- Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion Essbase and entertainment (digital) industry a definite asset
