INTERNAL AUDITOR (1 year term)

Schedule: 2 x 2 Rotation
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $95,000 - $100,000 (26 weeks)
Reports to: Audit Services Manager
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Audit Services Manager in the corporate office, this remote site based position will be responsible for executing audit assignments as required by the risk based audit coverage plan. The Audit plan will cover all identified risk areas of the operation including mining, treatment, engineering, administration and support services. The successful candidate will be on a 2 weeks in and 2 weeks out rotation at a remote mine site. (2 weeks of work, followed by 2 weeks completely off)
Responsibilities:
- Effectively completing the entire audit cycle (planning through to reporting.) for a broad range of financial and operational audits with minimal supervision
- Carrying out multiple audit engagements that conform to Internal Audit’s risk-based audit methodology, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards of Professional Practice and to the required quality standards of the company
- Presenting solutions to problems encountered, and work to deliver an efficient on-time, on-budget audit
- Preparing detailed audit files supporting the analyses performed and recommendations provided to the audit client that are in-line with the Internal Audit Department’s standards
- Producing audit reports that clearly articulate risk exposure and control recommendations to mitigate risk
- Proactively promoting risk management
- Building and maintaining an effective working relationship and network across all levels of the organization
Candidate Qualifications:
- A degree in Business or Accounting combined with a minimum 4 years internal audit experience in an operational environment
- CIA designation is preferred; CA or CMA designation accepted Internal Audit experience in the mining industry is an advantage Strong analytical and interpretation skills ACL software experience as well as SAP exposure are additional benefits Exposure and experience to Risk Management Effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills and a high level of personal productivity are assets
