VP Finance
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 (dependant on experience) + up to 15% bonus potential
Location: Mississauga
Reports to: President
Our Client, a leading integrated marketing services agency is seeking a VP of Finance to lead corporate financial planning, budget management, reporting requirements, financial relationships and to ensure Company accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions
- Establish benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Oversee daily operations of the finance department
- Manage the preparation of all financial reports
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and business investment decisions
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal reporting requirements
- Work with department heads to develop annual and 3 year business plans
- Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department goals and objectives
- Serve as primary government liaison relative to financial issues
- Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements as required
Additional Responsibilities:
- Management and oversight for IT department working with department head
- Management and oversight for HR department working with department head
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate responsible department staff
- Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff
Qualifications
- Must have a CA, CMA, CGA designation or in the final stages of completion
- Must have experience in a project management environment
- 5 - 10 years experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position
- Must have experience with acquisitions and integrations
- Must have experience with ERP implementations
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including GAAP
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems (Microsoft Dynamics an asset)
- Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets and project profitability analysis
- Experience in an Agency environment an asset
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects and corporate entities is key
