Contract Consultant (6 - 12 months with potential to go longer)

Pay Rate: $28 - $35 (dependant on experience)

Reports to: Director, Corporate Treasury and/or Manager, Liquidity
The Opportunity
Our Client is looking for a Consultant, for a 12 month contract with potential to go longer. This role will be involved with the support of existing processes and building out new processes, as part of a technology project.
Responsibilities
- Develop new models as required to support reporting requirements
- Perform data mining on a regular basis to facilitate risk modelling and analysis as specified by users
- Support existing models including troubleshooting and update the existing models as required
- Design and maintain automated processes to compile, process and analyze data for risk measurement purposes and facilitate timely and accurate reporting
- Design and maintain a change management process including proper documentation to incorporate new user requirements and data sources into the reporting process
- Actively take actions to mitigate unforeseen system or accounting errors in order to better manage processes and time
- Maintain effective working relationships with all groups within Corporate Treasury and other areas of the Bank
- Consult with the users within Corporate Treasury to understand requirements in order to design the most efficient and effective system/application to satisfy users' needs
- Coordinate with data providers to ensure complete and accurate information is provided on a timely basis
- Recommend best practices for implementation in the Bank with respect to market risk, liquidity risk, and funding risk measurement by using strong analytical approach
- Recommend the best modelling and data analysis tools to be used in Corporate Treasury
- Information gathering from Finance groups (corporate and lines of businesses) for financial information
Qualifications
- CA, CMA, CGA, MBS (Finance), BA (Economics, Commerce), B.Sc. (Math), CFA or equivalent
- Must have 3 - 5 years experience, with exposure to one or more or the following: market, liquidity and funding risk management and measurement, retail/commercial/corporate banking, cash management, treasury markets, transfer pricing and finance
- Must have strong knowledge of financial modeling
- Must have in-depth knowledge of MS Office including macros, lookups and pivot tables
- Good understanding of Bank structure and information systems
- Good understanding of Bank's retail and wholesale product offerings
- Good understanding of financial market instruments, including derivative products, and pricing
- Good understanding of risk management
- Banking industry experience is an asset
- Treasury experience is an asset
