Director, JV Accounting & Analysis

$55,000 - $65,000 (dependant on experience ) + up to 10% bonus potential

Provide financial analysis on individual projects and portfolio of commercial retail properties.

Compile quarterly (or as otherwise may be required) leasing summary reports by extracting data from the data warehouse;
Co-ordinate the preparation of periodic project proforma updates and check against accounting records to ensure accuracy and reasonableness;
Summarize key metrics from project proforma updates and prepare review packages for senior management;
Prepare PowerPoint slides for presentations to external parties;
Prepare quarterly cash flow forecasts for internal/external use;
Assist in the annual preparation of a 5-Year Plan and annual budget for an external partner;
Estimate the cash and accounting gains from the potential sale/permanent financing of projects;
Develop financial simulation models to evaluate the impact of potential business transactions; incorporate decision-making tools such as discounted cash flow, IRR and NPV analysis into financial models;
Maintain existing financial models to ensure model integrity;
Participate in special projects, including the continuous improvement of reports and processes through automation or otherwise.

2-3 years professional work experience in related field;
Four –Year Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting and / or Professional Designation (CFA, CA, CGA, CMA).
Experience in commercial real estate considered an asset.
Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel, and familiarity with Word and PowerPoint;
Detail oriented and responsible individual with a proven track record of taking ownership and follow through to ensure all loose ends are resolved;
Excellent organization and time management skills in dealing with changing priorities in a fast paced environment;
Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization;
Knowledge of accounting practices as applied to real estate development is preferred;
Excellent business judgment and numerical skills.
