FINANCIAL ANALYST - 13 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION
Start Date: ASAP (13 month contract with potential to go longer and/or permanent)
Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 (dependant on experience)
Location: GTA
Reports to: Manager of Treasury
The Opportunity
Our client, a leader in the entertainment industry, is looking for a Financial Analyst for a 13 month contract. This role will support the Treasury Manager of the Corporate Finance Department in the preparation of corporate budgets, forecasting and strategic financial plans.
Responsibilities
1. TREASURY / EFS
- Prepare daily deposit documentation for one division and perform banking tasks
- Provide daily coding to EFS department for all deposits and ensure EFS has accurately posted the deposits
- Prepare a weekly reconciliation of cash for Treasury at Head Office
- Resolve any issues that arise at month-end
- Prepare journal entries for cash at month-end
2. BUDGETING – CASH
- Validate the P & L data that has been loaded into SAP prior to preparing the overall cash flow statements (semiannual)
- Prepare overall cash flow statements for Canada (semiannual)
- Prepare journal entries for the above
- Validate the cash flow that has been loaded into SAP
- On a monthly basis refresh the overall file and update the cash flow statement with actual and reforecast the rest of the year
- Assist in the preparation of the cash and balance sheet reporting package for Head Office
3. BUDGETING – DIVISION
- Assist in the preparation of one division’s revenue forecasts (three times a year)
- Assist in loading the above data into system
- Assist in updating monthly revenue in system and cleanse data
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly divisional package
4. REPORTING
- Prepare a weekly cash tracking report on SAP (actual)
- At month end, provide the VP with financial statements for review
- At quarter end assist in the preparation of the reporting package
5. MISCELLANEOUS
- Semiannual Petty Cash Count
- Quarterly Bank Fees schedule
- Ad hoc projects for the VP
Qualifications
- Enrolment in CGA/CMA or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 2 – 3 years experience in a similar role
- Must have experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Must have experience with financial statement preparation, specifically cash flow statements
- Superior proficiency in Excel
- Must have experience with v-lookups and pivot tables
- Must have SAP experience
- Excellent communication skills as the individual will be dealing with people at all levels in the organization in Canada and US
- Must be a good team player
- Good planning and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize, show initiative and work independently as required
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
