CONTROLLER
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 / year + bonus potential
Location: 2 hours north of Toronto

Our client, a 100% Canadian owned company nestled in the heart of cottage country, is looking for an experienced controller to join their finance team.
The Opportunity
Our client has just completed an expansion and they are in the process of planning a new “site” in the next few years. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a top performer with exceptional technical skills, thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and be ready to make an immediate contribution to their growing organization. Reporting to the President, you will be part of the management team and become a key financial adviser to this fast-paced, entrepreneurial growth company.
Responsibilities:
- Directly coordinate all company financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting functions
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for submission to management
- Establish and maintain an efficient and effective supply chain base through the selection, qualification, and ongoing management of partners/suppliers. This includes performance measurement, problem resolution, and identifying value-added opportunities
- Monitor and oversee all day-to-day management and control of accounting including the management and supervision of support resources
- Create, implement, and continuously improve systems, standards, and processes for financial management, measurement, and control including monitoring and reporting of income and expenses versus budget
- Submission of all statutory returns (HST, EHT, T4, etc.) monthly and yearly returns
- May include responsibilities for the I/T function
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in the accounting industry preferably in a small to medium size organization at the controller level or top finance position
- Must have 4 - 5 years of supervisory experience
- Must have manufacturing experience
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or related academic background
- A professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) or demonstrated equivalent experience in the above related job requirements
- Advanced skills in MS Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and application of GAAP and requirements for accounting, financial statement preparation, and external reporting
- Must be able to work independently, multi-task effectively, show initiative at all times, and manage tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in business analysis, sales and support organizations, and/or associated disciplines
- Highly-developed analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
